Neofinetia falcata 'Amami Island White'

After resting for 4 years without blooming, my largest fuuran came out swinging this spring! I began blooming in the last week of May and is still going. 75 flowers between 18 inflorescences. The perfume has been incredible! Compare to four years ago.

Native to Amami Island, the largest cultivar of the species, in both flower and leaf size. It is also the fastest grower out of the 50 so cultivars I've grown, and also the most heat tolerant.

Neofinetia falcata was traditionally cultivated almost exclusively by the Japanese Bushido, or warrior class, for centuries. Many cultivars are still highly prized in Japan today and some fetch prices in thousands of dollars (USD).
