So Martin and I attended a street photography workshop Wandering in the Company of Strangers sponsored by Black Boots Ink and it was exhausting and exhilarating and AMAZING. If you've ever hit a wall in your photography it's a great idea to shake it up and take a workshop specializing in something different enough to challenge your photographic view. This workshop brought together 20+ strangers and we hit the streets on Saturday at 8 AM bright and early and eager to get started (despite the fact that it was raining). We had introduced ourselves the evening before and had a great meal at the Maharani Restaurant on Polk and Post--GREAT Indian food! I can't recommend it enough. A banquet room in the back of Maharani was our headquarters and the staff took great care of us!

Anyway, Saturday AM we hit Fisherman's Wharf for a couple of hours went back to Maharani, downloaded our images, went through a few peoples images with critiques from our instructors Emilio Banuelos, of Black Boots Ink: blackbootsink.com/, and Ibarionex Perello, the magical voice behind the photography podcast Candid Frame: thecandidframe.blogspot.com/. Then we went back out to shoot the Tenderloin, Powell Street and Union Square and shot until 5pm. For Sunday evening's reception and exhibition we tweaked and put together 5 of our best images and for me this one was my best shot, imho.
