Advanced DSLRs allow us today to measure the correct white balance in the moment of shooting a picture.

BUT: If we take our photos in RAW-Format we can edit the white balance later. Only theoretically wrong white balance at the time of shooting can influence noise levels, but in practice you only see the difference in JPEGs generated in camera.

WHY? Because the automatic or measured WB does in practice not deviate very much from the correct value.

BUT: Lighttemperature can influence the noise levels even in RAW-format. If you use Halogen (~3000 Kelvin) the amount of photons recorded in the blue channel is significantly lower than with a lighting of daylight-characteristic (~5500 Kelvin), which means that with Halogen the blue channel has to be amplified more than the red channel and noise in the blue channel is the consequence.
