Pororari Lagoon, Punakaki - a photo on Flickriver

            This is the place, in the Paparoa National Park, where two major creeks flow from two parallel limestone gorges, to join each other in a tidal lagoon at Punakaiki. The Pororari River flows from a wide canyon, but Bullock Creek is funnelled through a deep narrow gryke, causing extremely dangerous currents in rainy weather.
