evening in the wineyards - bad duerkheim, michelsberg

            Taken this week in the pale evening light near bad duerkheim. The "michelsberg" there (=micheals montain, named by a chapel dedicated to archangel michael) is an excellent riesling site. And ist is the oldest wine location, mentioned by name, in the palatinate. You can see the wineyard in the foreground perfectly prepared for the new season. Budding ahead!

Aufgenommen vor einigen Tagen abends in der Nähe von Bad Dürkheim. Der Michelsberg dort (der Name stammt von einer, dem Erzengel Michael gewidmeten, Kapelle auf dem Hügel) ist eine vorzügliche Rieslinglage. Außerdem ist es die älteste benannte Weinlage in der Pfalz überhaupt. Im Vordergrund kann man sehr schön die perfekte Vorbereitung der Reben auf die neue Saison sehen. Knospen voraus!
