Special:
- The first M70 models had the nickname "mousetrap", officially a mechanism of Harley-Davidson (officially: clutch booster) to make the operation of the clutch lighter. When disassembling, the mechanism clapped sometimes hard on the fingers. This was solved by using a tool the mousetrap eliminator on later models.
- The early M70's had the tank between the tubes of the frame like the M60, called in French "Entre Tubes".
- During time, the M70 was improved with better drum brakes, a saddle tank in 1932 and another front fork with 2 weak springs.
- In 1936 a foot lever shift was available (instead of hand shifters).
- M70 Sahara / 1926-1930 / 16,294 units built.
- M70 A & B / 1928-1932 / and M70 C / 1930 - 1932 / A,B & C 20,935 units built.
- M70 D DeLuxe / 1932 - 1946 / 1,986 units built.
- The M70 range was FN's most popular model ever☺!
