Horse jumping at Aspen Farms in Yelm, Washington

            I've never been to a horse trial before, so when Ola (her friend's family owns the farm) invited me to go as a photo project I jumped at the chance.  I rented the 200mm F2 VR for the weekend and I was amazed and impressed once again with this lens.  It took a while before I got down what shutter speed (1/750 - 1/1250), aperture (f2.5), and settings (manual, auto ISO) worked best as well as timing the jumps.  The interesting thing is that there's one really good pose, the rest of the time the horse looks funny.  5 frames per second isn't enough to just blast away and catch it, you have to time it right.  A ton of fun and I hope to do it again.
