The Basilica St.Michael in Mondsee, an outstanding art treasure near Salzburg

            The church of the former Benedictine monastery Mondsee was established in the 12th century
1470-87 new building of the gothic Basilica, retained almost unchanged till to-day.
As from 1680 the important baroque artist Meinrad Guggenbichler created the altar and a lot of other artworks in the church.

The wedding-scene of the cult movie "Sound Of Music" was shot in that wonderful church!
