Kalapana Lohi Pāhoehoe - a photo on Flickriver

            A slow moving blob of lava at Kalapana last February.

I'm already working on my return to the islands but the lava flows have stopped. I was hoping to get more lava shots that expand on what I learned from shooting it the last time that I was there. And maybe even an ocean entry. Even if I don't shoot more lava, I still have quite a few shots of it that I have yet to process.

I walked up to about a foot or two of it to get this shot. The red part of the lava is about 2000° F. 

I suppose that this can be considered a macro shot. :)
