Montferri - a photo on Flickriver

Montferri

            La història comença als anys 20. El jesuïta Daniel Maria Vives, fill de Montferri, que vivia a la cova de Sant Ignasi de Manresa, va escriure que un dia, mentre resava al cambril del santuari de la Moreneta a Montserrat, li va vindre al pensament que sobre aquest turó de Montferri hi calia un santuari dedicat a la Moreneta per acostar la Mare de Déu de Montserrat als pobles de Tarragona. Quan se li va concedir el terreny, va cridar l'arquitecte tarragoní Josep Maria Jujol, deixeble i col.laborador d'en Gaudí, i li va encarregar el projecte d'aquest Santuari. La cerimònia de la primera pedra d'aquest santuari va tindre lloc el novembre de 1925.
