Kazue - a photo on Flickriver

Kazue

            Vintage Japanese ichimatsu doll, 34cm or just under 14" tall.
She has a vibrant red silk crepe kimono patterned with pictures of typical Japanese toys - drums, balls, card games, spinning tops, clay figures etc. A beautiful soft material and all perfectly hand-sewn. Her obi is made of fine cotton and very beautifully knotted at the back.
She has a voice-box in her tummy that still works, it squeaks when you push it.
The gofun on her face is a bit worn and has a few hair-line cracks and scratches. It's also slightly flaky in places. The gofun on her feet is much rougher and thinner than on her hands.
