On The Rocks (Explored) - a photo on Flickriver

            First of all Happy Christmas to all my flickr friends :)
One of my christmas presents was a b+w nd110 filter for my sigma 10-20mm so I went down the beach this afternoon to try it out.
This was the result which I'm really pleased about especially as I've never used one before.
The light was lovely and you can see the setting suns rays hitting the rocks from the right.
I downloaded a grad filter exposure table from the internet and used it as a guidline for this shot.
The exposure was 182 seconds at f/18.
I did this picture with the intention of converting to mono due to inspiration from my flickr friend Joel Tjintjelaar ( click his name to the right to check out his wonderful work) but the colour looked superb, especially the golden glow from the rocks so I left the picture as nature intended.
I love this filter so expect many more long exposure shots to come.
