Custom Crumpler Bag - Lego Classic Spaceman

A custom bag that I got made up by Crumpler.

I used an image of a Lego Classic Spaceman similar to this one as inspiration. I then traced the image in Adobe Illustrator to get the design looking good in the limited number of colours available (the bag is made with panels of fabric). I wanted the design to look similar to the printing on this Lego piece and this Lego piece.

The design was just missing 'something', so I added the grid in the background similar to the grid used on the Lego Space set boxes between 1987 and 1995. I didn't want the grid to be too overpowering, so I decided to use black stitching on the black background.

The white 'halo' around the moon is reflective, as is the outline around the space logo on his chest and the white strip at the bottom of the bag.

After a few alterations, the crew at Crumpler did a good job at matching the final outcome to my original design.

The bag itself is a Crumpler 'Barney Rustle Blanket', and the only part that is customised is the main flap on the front.

And yes, I did get permission from Lego before getting this bag made.
