White Rhino - a photo on Flickriver

White Rhino

This is a youngster and its mum. The youngster always stays in front of the mother (only for white rhino..).

These formidable grazers were out of sight far off into the bush, so we had a lovely drive through thick undergrowth to find them.

It was Rhino paradise - lots of grazing and thanks to the recent rainfalls in the area - lots of lovely mud baths!

Rhinos and Elephants prove to be tricky subjects for the on camera metering.. the dark grey skin confuses the meter into overexposing - which can produce horrible shots.. I constantly had to check the exposures and dial in a stop or so down to keep the grey as seen.

A Greasemonkey script that adds Flickriver links to various Flickr photo pages - user photos, favorites, pools etc, allowing to quickly open the corresponding Flickriver view.
