girl. gull. [strobist boot-camp 2. assignment 1]

as some of you may know, i have been dabbling in expanding my off camera lighting oeuvre... this is my second ever attempt... and what better way to learn than the butt-kicking strobist group's boot camp challenge...?
strobist info: shot using nikon sb26 flashlight at 45 [-ish] degrees to subject and 90 [-ish] degrees to sun [in relation to me].... speedlight at 1/16 or 1/32 power, depending on clouds... camera set to manual and -two stops from the background. er that's it...
what i learned: remembering to pack a transluscent tuppaware bowl in lieu of a shoot thru umbrella only works if someone doesn't fill it with the coleslaw upon immediate arrival at the beach... that a manfrotto stand may grunt and complain substantially less of aching arms than a stand-in 14 year old flash-pointer... that the shadow cast on the chair isn't great... nor the one cast by my daughter's cute button nose.. blah blah blah...
