Petirrojo, el Robín de los bosques - a photo on Flickriver

            Segunda serie desde HIDE de el Magüetu. Os recomiendo si podeis poneros en contacto con el, porque merece la pena.
El petirrojo (erithacus rubecula), es un pájaro muy querido y admirado en el mundo anglosajón. Emite uno de los cantos más bellos que pueden oírse en la Península Ibérica; es un pájaro insectívoro muy fácil de distinguir, debido al color rojo anaranjado que adorna, tanto su pecho, como su frente; el lomo es pardo y el vientre de color blanco grisáceo. Como característica habitual de los pájaros insectívoros, su pico es fino, siendo el petirrojo un pájaro de apariencia “nerviosa” que mueve continuamente cuerpo y cola, arriba y abajo.
En el norte de la Península puede verse, prácticamente, un ejemplar en cada jardín, y decimos bien: un ejemplar, o pareja en época de cría, -meses de diciembre a marzo-, pues es un pájaro sumamente territorial que la emprende a picotazos con cualquier congénere que ose traspasar sus dominios.
