Panorama - a photo on Flickriver

            Before I tried my first digital stitching panoramic image, I did the following:

I did a lot of reading on the subject. The panoramic discussions on Internet forums such as PhotoCamel, Nature Photographers, and APUG helped me a lot. For example, I learned that one camera I was considering had a problem with irregular shutter speeds. At certain manually set shutter speeds, there could be so much exposure variation from one shot to the next that it would cause poor stitches. 

I did a lot of practicing with my equipment. I practiced leveling my tripod with and without the camera attached. I practiced setting the exposure, white balance, and focus. I practiced overlapping shots. One thing I learned was that I needed a checklist because without it, I would always forget to do something.

I practiced stitching images together. During these practice sessions, I learned that I was not satisfied with my stitching software. In addition to stitching files from digital cameras, I also needed software that could stitch very large image scans of 6x9cm film without running into a memory problem.

A Greasemonkey script that adds Flickriver links to various Flickr photo pages - user photos, favorites, pools etc, allowing to quickly open the corresponding Flickriver view.

Also, allows quickly viewing any Flickr photo on black background in large size.
