Silverstone Classic 26.7.19 - a photo on Flickriver

            It was good to see Sid Hoole out again in his unique Ensign N173 MN01, five years after his horrific crash at Silverstone in the same car.  Here he transits Abbey during qualifying for the Masters Historic F1 races but the car's undistinguished record continued and he failed to post a finish in either event.  In 1973 Rikki von Opel had no better luck, his best result being 15th in the ill-starred British GP when a large number of cars were eliminated in Jody Sceckter's accident.
