Africa Railways - Trans Zambesia Railway - TZR Class D 4-8-0 steam locomotive Nr. 3 "Afonso de Albuquerque" (Hawthorn Leslie 3532 / 1922)

            HL were based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Peckett were a Bristol Company and did not produce 4-8-0s for SHR/CAR. HL locomotives were built in 1915. SHR/CAR only operated 8-12 and 19-24, the latter being the NBL 1930 examples. 13-15 were the TZR 4-8-0s, although Nr. 13 was probably CAR before going to TZR. 16-18 were the TZR E Class Garratts and then 25 onwards was the F Class WD locos etc.  It is uncertain whether Peckett ever produced locos as large as 4-8-0. They seem to have mostly concentrated on small shunting engines.  If TZR did have three 4-8-0s then Nr. 13 must have been one of the 1915 units transferred from the CAR
