La comète et la galaxie (comète) - a photo on Flickriver

            Lors de la nouvelle Lune du mois de mai 2020, alors que nous aurions dû être aux Nuits astronomiques de Touraine, la météo était superbe. Ne pouvant pas aller au Mémorial comme à notre habitude, nous avons fait de l’astrojardin à défaut de mieux. Le village est bardé de lampadaires mais on peut limiter la pollution lumineuse en se mettant derrière la maison. Et le filtre CLS permet de réaliser quelques images.

La comète C/2019 Y1 Atlas continuait sa route vers le système solaire externe après avoir fait son périhélie à la mi-mars 2020. A proximité de la comète, une galaxie spirale barrée aux bras spiraux très étirées me permit d’obtenir un cadre original. Cependant, il ne me restait pas beaucoup de place pour loger la comète que je mis en haut à droite. 
Y1 avait perdu quelques magnitudes mais la rencontre avec cette galaxie la rendit plutôt intéressante.
Cette dernière découverte par William Herschel en 1793, cataloguée NGC 3359, se situe à environ 56 millions d’années-lumière de la Voie Lactée.

Et si la comète ne fait que passer vite fait dans le coin supérieur droit de l’image, la galaxie est plutôt jolie en bas à gauche.

Photos prises le 18 mai 2020 à Ayguemorte-les-Graves (33) – Canon 7D défiltré partiel au foyer d’une lunette 100/900 apo sur monture Orion Sirius EQ-G (sans goto ni autoguidage)
226 poses d’une minute – ISO 6400 – 21 DOF – Camera RAW, Toshop et VirtualDub.
