Plaque on the site of Edwardstown Industrial School of 1898, & former girls' reformatory - later named Glandore Boys Home closing 1972. South Australia

            Edwardstown Industrial School in Adelaide opened in 1898 on the site of the former girls reformatory, with all girls moved out to Catholic and Protestant homes in country areas. After that, Magill Industrial School closed and its children moved to Edwardstown Industrial School.

As at Magill, Edwardstown Industrial School was a home for children placed into state care. Many had lost or been deserted by one or both parents.

The School was later named Glandore Boys' Home and closed in 1972.
