R.H. Macy overlooks his Parisian store

            WEEK 38 – Carriage Crossing Macy’s, Set II

In this pic, we’re glancing up from the jewelry department towards the upper level, managing to get one of the escalators and even a portion of the barrel roof in the shot. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it a hundred more times before this album is over: this store is just gorgeous! 

Notice how all the lighting we’ve been discussing here on the lower level, while nice and warm in its ambience, does seem to be a tad on the dimmer side of things; well, clearly that’s more than counteracted by the abundance of cool natural light that flows into the building from the prominent front windows. I really like seeing that juxtaposition here; I also think the script-logo “R.H. Macy & Co. Fine Jewelry” sign adds a nice touch of class to the bottom right of this shot.
