It's only nature DSC_0326 - a photo on Flickriver

            Well, Templeton (cotton rat) was a friendly, entertaining little fellow.  I always thought it was rather funny that when I would go outside he would run, run, run away.  

However, when he saw that it was only me coming out to feed the birds or fish he would come out of hiding and go about his business cleaning up what the birds had spilled.  He was a funny little rat that would scurry about and hop over short plants and tall grass throughout the day.  Therefore, I found him to be rather entertaining.

Elvis (Red-shouldered hawk) and I have an agreement about not eating songbirds but technically we had not discussed Templeton.  So I can't be mad at him for doing what hawks do.  

Truly I didn't want to see a whole lotta cotton rats or any other rats show up at my feeders.  So although I will miss Templeton, I suppose in a way Elvis has done me a favor. I don't poison anything around here so if there is to be pest control I'll leave it to Elvis. 

I was contemplating about posting this image or another one with a string of Templeton's insides that were no longer inside.  I don't want to offend anyone but there are a ton of images similar to this all over Flickr and it is only nature. 

This image is heavily cropped because Elvis was high in Oak one and I was taking photos through the living room window.
