The End of Summer - a photo on Flickriver

The End of Summer

            Even though we are well into October it was not till the last couple of weeks that I felt like the weather had changed so this picture makes me think of the end of summer, not that we have much of a winter here, but people will still get out less and enjoy the long summer days when you can still get some fun in before the sun goes down but after work. 

I was photographing the birds down at the San Diego River and as you can see the sun was getting close to the horizon during sunset, enough so that I was losing good light to shoot the birds, so I came up from the river and started walking back to my car along the San Diego River Bikeway. I thought it would be fun to photograph the people on the bikeway with the sun coming down behind them. Using my big 600mm lens which gives a very shallow depth of field to the image.
