Eastern Brown with Lunch - a photo on Flickriver

            Two metre Eastern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja textilis), deadly to humans, swallows a rat after attacking bites to envenomate. Ubiquitous Australian blowflies are attracted by wounds sustained by the rat. The snake twitches sharply now and then to ward off the flies. Such sudden movements are alarming for the photographer edging closer for a closer shot.
