Silvereye DSC_4960

            The Silvereye or wax-eye is a very small omnivorous  bird  found in Australia and New Zealand. The white ring around the eye is very distinctive. (As I write this, my budgie Alfie is on the keyboard trying to bite my fingers because I am interfering with his position!)

I have had them visit my garden a few times. I love these little birds but have never had much success in photographing them as they are always so busy flitting about. I took this while we were away in the Dandenongs over the New Year.
