Wild Turkey 2259

            These birds are in the woods all around the area I live in.  I often see large groups of them feeding in the fields, until I show interest.  If I continue driving, nothing changes. If I decide to stop, the usual routine goes like this.........  As I pull the car onto the shoulder of the road the birds move away in a slow disinterested manner.  As the car stops and I get out, the pace quickens, away from the vehicle.  At the first sighting of a photographic device, the birds begin a very undignified cross between running and jogging into the woods.  This is the only time I’ve ever seen one take to the air, and although it’s not my favourite shot, I was lucky to get it.
