DB IR 2112 Bodensee Konstanz - Stralsund - Herleshausen

            De overstromingen in het voorjaar van 2002 zorgde er in Hessen ook voor dat de Werra op meerdere plekken over de oevers trad. Te Herleshausen kwam het water daarbij tot vast aan de spoorlijn Eisenach - Bebra. Op de foto van 8 maart 2002 rijdt Interregio 2112 "Bodensee" (van Konstanz naar Stralsund) langs de onder water staande weilanden door Herleshausen.

Das Hochwasser in 2002 sorgte dafür, dass auch die Werra an meheren Stellen über die Ufer trat. Bei Herleshausen reichte das Wasser dabei fast bis zur Eisenbahnstrecke Eisenach - Bebra.
Im Bild fährt Interregio 2112 "Bodensee" gerade an einer der überfluteten Wiesen vorbei auf seiner Fahrt von Konstanz nach Stralsund.

Heavy rain for weeks on end in early 2002 coupled with melting snow from the mountains in the Czech republic lead to flooding all over (East) Germany. Near Herleshausen (where the river Werra flows), the water came awfully close to the railway line Eisenach - Bebra.
In the picture from March 8th 2002, Interregio 2112 "Bodensee" passes the water while running from Lake Constanze in the south of Germany to Stralsund on the Baltic sea coast.
