Midnight Rainbow Over Ballintoy - a photo on Flickriver

            I’m not sure what to make of this image. I was visiting Portballintrae in Northern Ireland and decided to take a drive out to Ballintoy for some Astro photography, this is 55° north so there was also a chance of the northern lights! What I did capture was something I’d never seen before - a midnight rainbow. I not sure how this phenomenon could occur particularly as it was 4 minutes to midnight on a winters night. Perhaps a knowledgeable Flickr user could provide an explanation?
