An der A44 gelegen, bildet die neue Hauptverwaltung des ADAC in Westfalen einen unübersehbaren Akzent. Das Bauwerk mit einer Bruttogeschossfläche von 23.000 Quadratmetern und einer Länge von 180 Metern wird über zwei Atrien an den Gebäudeecken erschlossen. Den Zugang zum östlichen Atrium bildet eine fast neun Meter breite Freitreppe. So zeigt sich der Bau an seiner Nordseite zur A44 hin eher geschlossen, mit horizontalen Fensterbändern.
Die Ostseite des Gebäudes wird durch eine vertikal gegliederte Fassade, die aus einer Stützenkonstruktion mit durchlaufenden Fensterbändern besteht, geprägt. Diese Fassadenbereiche sind mit hellen Kalksteinquadern verblendet. Auf der Südseite, auf der sich die Höfe des kammartig gegliederten Gebäudes zu einer verkehrsberuhigten Straße hin öffnen, ist die Fassade als leichte Konstruktion aus Aluminium und Glas gestaltet. Located on the A44, the new ADAC headquarters in Westphalia is an unmistakable accent. The building with a gross floor area of 23,000 square meters and a length of 180 meters is accessed via two atriums at the corners of the building. Access to the eastern atrium is provided by a flight of almost nine meters wide. The building appears rather closed on its north side facing the A44, with horizontal ribbon windows.
The east side of the building is characterized by a vertically structured facade, which consists of a column construction with continuous ribbon windows. These facade areas are faced with light limestone blocks. On the south side, on which the courtyards of the comb-like structure open up to a traffic-calmed street, the facade is designed as a light construction made of aluminum and glass.
