Crompton Parkinson Sub-Station Step Down Transformer......BUILT IN ?????.....1953 !!!

            To the un-trained eye....Such as mine. This is simply 3 pipes with a little metal placard stuck on them. But what they actually are, are 3 pipes which carry cooling fluid around the copper coils of this 64 year old Step Down Electrical Transformer, built by the British Electric Transformer Company, a division of Crompton Parkinson in 1953. HERE IT IS....still functioning perfectly....humming away, as they do, outside, in all weather conditions. A true testimony to the skill and craftsmanship of British Electrical Engineering manufacture !!!
