Common Milkweed

            How anyone can call milkweed a "noxious weed" is beyond me. It's beautiful, has a pleasing (and strong) fragrance and, most importantly, attracts and provides food for monarch butterflies and other important pollinators. Live in North America? Want butterflies in your yard and help the environment at the same time? Ditch the non-native day lilies and plant milkweed! These were blooming in the La Crosse River Marsh.
