Il y a des lieux emblématiques de notre histoire alpine qui reviennent inlassablement sur le devant de la scène : le Yosemite, les Dolomites, les Calanques ou encore le Verdon. Les jeunes viennent ainsi tâter les terrains de jeu de nos anciens sur ces véritables « aimants à grimpeurs » intergénérationnels.

L’Eiger est clairement l’un des piliers de cette mythologie, et plus particulièrement son austère face nord dont la conquête héroïque de 1938 fut longtemps dévaluée à une simple action de propagande nazie. Depuis, les esprits se sont bien apaisés et, heureusement, la face est toujours aussi attractive, que ce soit pour les grignoteurs de minutes, les répétiteurs ou les ouvreurs.
