Uisge Misgeach River, Upper Strathfarrar, North-West Highlands.

            Poem.

Nearer West coast than East.
Nearly 1,000 foot up.
Beyond the Monar Dams, the Uisge Misgeach River,
a tributary of the River Farrar, flows east, from the southern slopes of Sgùrr na Lapaich, 1,150m. (3,773 feet.)
Autumnal, bronzed moorland frames the patch of green pasture
and the river’s ribbon of blue.
Hummocky, glacial deposits called “Drumlins” speckle the lower slopes of the valley.
The hills, culminating in the peak, Sgòrr na Dìollaid, 818m. (2,684 feet) separate Farrar from its sister Goddess, Glen Cannich.
Silent, tranquil, resplendent.
A falling autumnal sun spot-lights Upper Strathfarrar to a warm, golden, iridescent glow.
