Morning sun gleams from the surface of Loch Hourn, a sea-loch/fjord looking through the pine forest of its northern shore, Inverness-shire, Scotland.

            Commentary.

Refracted morning sun gleams silver
off the western reaches of Loch Hourn
on the beautiful West Coast of Scotland.
Fjord-like sea-lochs abound, drowned glacial valleys
mellowed over thousands of years by warmer, temperate conditions.

Now shrouded in grass, heather, fern, gorse, broom and pine forest, such green and yellow glades are topped by the bare-rock remnants of a former ice-scoured past.
Here looking east, the risen sun delineates mountain and pine in a pleasing glimpse, from a steep northern shore.
Loch Hourn – a wildly impressive meeting-point of sea and Highland, at their best.
