            Commentary.

An image after a three mile uphill climb from Bracorina on Loch Morar.
A landscape of rocky, hummocky hills, remote lochans and a lattice of rushing burns.
Here at Bealach nan Sac, 200 metres, 656 feet, above the former village of Wester Stoul views in all directions are stunning. This view is across the deep sea-loch called Loch Nevis towards untamed Knoydart.
Eastwards, at the head of the loch rises the distinctive pyramidal peak of Sgurr na Ciche, a landmark for miles around.
On the far left is a glimpse of Inverie, the most remote village on mainland Britain, only accessible by boat or on foot.
Smoke from heather-burning had masked most of my shots.
No loss.
Just an excuse to return next year.
