Looking Down the Runway... - a photo on Flickriver

            Since reading a web article several years ago on the reasons to take a window seat on airplane flights, I’ve had a chance to see many a sight, whether flying over or during takeoff. This image was a setting that I can’t recall ever seeing before during any of my travels with a look straight down the runway just prior to the plane making a turn to head down for takeoff. Yes, there was the leading line in the composition that brought out that feel that I noticed sitting and looking through the airplane window. But there was something else as I looked and looked at this captured image. Maybe it's the straight line; maybe it's the runway that is also straight and heading due south. Maybe it's the fact that I’d heard or read that the space shuttle could land there as it needed that long, straight runway. Whatever reason, I just happened to be lucky and capture this image looking straight down before taking off from the Austin airport on my way to SLC.
