Santiago de Compostela - City panorama with cathedral towers

            Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is one of the most important shrines of pilgrimage, the final resting place of St.James the Greater one of the twelve apostles, the disciples of Jesus Christ. His remains are located under the main altar.
The Cathedral is the work of Romanesque architecture in Spain, rich in numerous works of art. One of the peculiarities of the cathedral is Botafumeiro - huge censer of the more than 700-year history. Is suspended on the ceiling, at the intersection of the aisles. In 2014, the towers of the cathedral were renovated.

Katedra w Santiago de Compostela jest jedną z najważniejszych świątyń pielgrzymkowych, miejsce spoczynku św. Jakuba Większego jednego z dwunastu apostołów, uczniów Jezusa Chrystusa. Jego szczątki znajdują się pod głównym ołtarzem.
Katedra jest dziełem architektury romańskiej w Hiszpanii, bogatą w liczne dzieła sztuki. Jedną z osobliwości katedry jest Botafumeiro – wielka kadzielnica o ponad 700-letniej historii. Zawieszona jest na sklepieniu, na skrzyżowaniu naw. 
W roku 2014 wieże katedry były remontowane.
