Aigrette Garzette (Egretta garzetta)

            L'Aigrette garzette se nourrit d'une grande variété de proies vertébrées (petits poissons, amphibiens et leurs larves, voire petits lézards) et invertébrées (vers, crustacés, mollusques, et divers insectes, aquatiques et autres), harponnées du bec. Elle est beaucoup moins portée vers les milieux terrestres que sa congénère la Grande Aigrette, ou bien sûr que le Héron garde-boeufs.

The Little Egret feeds on a wide variety of vertebrate prey (small fish, amphibians and their larvae, even small lizards) and invertebrates (worms, crustaceans, molluscs, and various insects, aquatic and others), harpooned from the beak. It is much less inclined towards terrestrial environments than its congener the Great Egret, or of course than the Cattle Egret.
