O R F O R D N E S S I.R. - a photo on Flickriver

            One of the Laboratories on Orford Ness used by the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment. Known as Pagoda's they were designed to reduce the effects of an accidental explosion by taking the force of the blast in the massive concrete roof. They were not used for nuclear testing as such just testing the non nuclear parts of the A bomb particularly in terms of vibration. Ironic that the site should now look itself so post apocalyptic....
