            Grandcamp-Maisy (France) - Il pleut. J’ai demandé l’asile météorologique dans un bar du port de Grandcamp (Calvados), à côté de la station de gas-oil. Il règne une forte odeur de mélange d’iode, de poisson et de fuel. Un petit bateau de pêche fait le plein de carburant à quelques mètres de la terrasse abritée du bar-tabac. J’en déduis qu’il va prendre la mer. Je brave alors les intempéries. Je me saisis de mon appareil photo et fonce vers la jetée en bois de l’avant port pour attendre le fileyeur qui pratique la pêche côtière. La pluie vient juste de s’arrêter quand le navire s’engage dans le chenal. Je ne dois pas me louper car je n’ai qu’un objectif fixe (équivalent 40 mm en 24x36). J’ai plusieurs de photos du bateau de face, mais celle-ci est ma préférée. La dernière de la série.

Leaving at sea

Grandcamp-Maisy (France) - It is raining. I asked for meteorological asylum in a bar in the port next to the gas-oil station. There is a strong smell of a mixture of iodine, fish and fuel oil. A small fishing boat fills up with fuel a few meters from the sheltered terrace of the bar-tabac. I deduce that he is going to go out to sea. I then brave the bad weather. I grab my camera and head for the wooden pier in the outer harbor to wait for the boat. The rain has just stopped when the ship enters the channel. I must not miss it because I only have a fixed lens (equivalent 40 mm in 24x36). I have several pictures of the boat from the front, but my favorite is this one. The last in the series.
