            El 30 de septiembre de 1972 se inauguró en Sevilla este monumento escultural al torero Juan Belmonte apodado “El Pasmo de Triana”, barrio donde vivió desde niño, aunque en realidad nació en la calle Feria, en Sevilla. Tuvieron que pasar once años desde la muerte del torero, hasta que el Ayuntamiento, por iniciativa del Ateneo, decidiera construir un monumento en este popular barrio que recordara al torero de Triana.
