Highland Horsemasters Faction Hero: Leofswith the Windstrider

Few in the world of Warscape have a reason to hate orcs and goblins as much as Leofswith the Windstrider.  Raised in a small, humble settlement on the northern reaches of the highlands, Leofswith"s family was brutally murdered by a band of orcs and goblins raiding the surrounding area.  Forced to watch the beheading of his mother and father by the orc chieftain, Leofswith was left for dead after the tribe burned the village.  Upon receiving word of the orc raid, Ealforth the Horselord led a war party to defeat the tribe.  When they reached the ruined settlement they found Leofswith beaten and broken.  Ealforth took in the child and brought him back to Hardholme, the capital of the Highlands Horsemasters.

Raised as a child of the horse, Leofswith became an expert rider before the time he reached manhood, perfecting the art of mounted spear and bow combat.  His greatest talent, however, was seen in sword dueling.  Seeming to fly through the air, Leofswith would best his tutors and commanders deftly and swiftly.  Ealforth was proud of his adopted son and named him prince of the Highlands.  Leofswith would then spend the next several years protecting the borders of the highlands from the many perils that plague the world of Warscape.

While patrolling the outer edges of the highlands, Leofswith discovered several towns and settlements burned and rampaged.  Upon finding no survivors, he led his mounted company on a hard march through the tough ground of the highland, stopping only to feed and water their immense war steeds. They came upon the orc warband deep in the wild, and Leofswith knew who he had found.  It was the chieftain from when he was a child, now towering and immense brute that led a now larger tribe.  In an epic show of warfare, Leofswith routed the orc tribe and met the chieftain in single combat.  Seeming to fly through the air upon his loyal steed, Leofswith seemed to be a flash of light with how quickly he moved.   Beheading the orc chieftain in what seemed like an instant, Leofswith's men began to chant a new name for the young lord: "Windstrider".  He would wear this name with honor and carry it with courage.

Leofswith carrie his spear and sword, Orcs-bane, into battle upon his immense warhorse Farseeker, a breed of horse known as the Highlandales. This breed of horse is unique only to the highlands, outweighing a regular breed by several hundred pounds and stand several hands taller.  They have shaggy fur on their legs and have hooves as hard as steel.  The Highlandales are an extremely rare breed only reserved for the heavy cavalry and the horselords, for they are the fastest, most powerful horses known to man.  Paired with a duelist such as Leofswith, this duo has become a terror on the battlefield.
