The old medieval Castle Bridge from the Mill Garden, Warwick, Warwickshire

            The original bridge over the River Avon leading south to Banbury and beyond.
Already in disrepair it was abandoned in the 1770's when the present Castle Bridge (the modern road bridge) was built a few hundred yards upstream. The ruin retains three of its arches, the other two out of shot on the right.

Viewed from the idyllic Mill Garden, open everyday in the summer for a small fee which goes to charity.
The shallows of the river were alive with small fish around 4-5 inches long and damsel and dragonflies swooped around.
