Highly Endangered Pygmy Elephant - a photo on Flickriver

A Highly endangered Pygmy Elephant photographed along the edge of the Kinabatangan River, Sabah, Borneo. There are thought to be around 2,500 left in the wild. This small herd of approx 50 individuals that I was fortunate enough to see after 3 days of searching is rapidly loosing it's habitat to palm oil and is being squeezed along a narrow corridor between the plantations and the Kinabatangan River.
