Alte Station (1913)
Die Haltestelle Werther Brücke befindet sich in Barmen am Ostende des Werths bzw. der Barmer Innenstadt, an der namensgebenden Werther Brücke.

Die alte Station stammte noch aus der Ursprungszeit und wurde als schönste der verbliebenen Vorkriegs-Stationen beschrieben, da sie als einzige noch deutlich sichtbare Jugendstil-Elemente besaß. 1984 wurde sie restauriert und erhielt, in Zusammenarbeit mit der Wuppertaler Künstlerin Anneliese Reckewitz-Epple, die ursprüngliche Farbgebung zurück.[1]

Bereits im Februar 2011 begannen Vorbereitungen zur Erneuerung der Station. Ende 2012 wurde sie demontiert und bis zum 12. August 2013 von der Firma Spiekermann formidentisch wiederaufgebaut. Am 19. August 2013 wurde die Station offiziell von Oberbürgermeister Peter Jung und dem Vorsitzenden der WSW-Geschäftsführung Andreas Feicht eröffnet. Am Werther Brunnen wurde die Eröffnung durch die WSW, der Immobilien-Standort-Gemeinschaft (ISG) Barmen-Werth und Einwohnern von Wuppertal gefeiert[2] und es wurde zu kostenlosen Fahrten mit dem Kaiserwagen eingeladen. Am 20. Januar 2014 wurde eine neue LED-Außenbeleuchtung von den WSW vorgestellt.
Location and history

The Stop Werther Brücke is located in Barmen at the eastern end of the Werth or the Barmer city centre, at the Werther Bridge.

The old station dates back to the original period and was described as the most beautiful of the remaining pre-war stations, as it was the only still clearly visible Art Nouveau elements. In 1984 it was restored and, in collaboration with the Wuppertal artist Anneliese Reckewitz-Epple, the original colour scheme was restored. [1]

Preparations for the renewal of the station began as early as February 2011. At the end of 2012 it was dismantled and rebuilt by Spiekermann until 12 August 2013 in a form-identical manner. On 19 August 2013, the station was officially opened by Mayor Peter Jung and the Chairman of the WSW Management Board Andreas Feicht. At the Werther Brunnen, the opening was celebrated by the WSW, the Real Estate Location Association (ISG) Barmen-Werth and residents of Wuppertal[2] and was invited to free rides with the Kaiserwagen. On January 20, 2014, a new LED outdoor lighting system was introduced by WSW.
