Riding the Icy River - a photo on Flickriver

            This duck is a rugged outdoorsy type not put off by the strong current, ice and snow conditions but whose wimpy mate soon rode the current into a calm spot and waited for her to join him. She was in no hurry.  I expect this relationship will not last the winter.
