Mullaloo beach high key 1-studio - a photo on Flickriver

            Generally our beaches are quiet places with few people but when you get hot summer days (over 40C, 104F) in school holidays on a weekend the beaches get busy.  On this particular day they were also holding a competition for the surf life saving clubs.  I took these pictures to capture the atmosphere.  The summer days are hot and the light is blindingly bright.  So bright you cant look at your camera display.  These low contrast and bright exposures convey some of the feeling of a summer day on my local beach (Mullaloo).  You can feel the sun baking your skin.  Its a surreal feeling.
