Hallstätter See (Lake Hallstatt), Austria

            I am a fan of Gustav Klimt's landscapes, especially his paintings of reflection on the lake. I just love his orderly separation of colors reflected on the still water surface, and I didn't believe it was real. I thought he was pushing the limits of impressionism ... until I saw and sketched the water of lake Hallstatt. It's exactly as Klimt painted it! This is a tribute to the master Austrian painter.
