Lower Calf Creek Falls (114_0117_1) - a photo on Flickriver

            Lower Calf Creek Falls, UT. 

This magnificent 126 foot high waterfall is located deep in the Calf Creek Recreation Area. The trailhead is located at the Calf Creek campground off State Highway 12 and is an easy 5 ½ mile round trip. The trail is a relatively level hike that follows Calf Creek past towering Navajo sandstone cliff faces and ancient pictographs and ends at a beautiful wooded grotto that showcases the falls in all its glory. It must have been 10-20 degrees cooler in this little oasis of blue and green. We needed our fleece shirts even though it was 80 degrees in the sun!

All images of the falls were taken with the camera on a tripod, a screw-in polarizing filter on my Sigma 17-50 mm lens and a Cokin 3 stop ND filter hand held in front of the lens to give me the long exposures I wanted.
